Pedro Cano

Pedro Cano graduated from medical school at the University of Murcia, Spain. He did a residency in clinical and anatomic pathology at Michael Reese Hospital in Chicago, and a fellowship in transfusion medicine and molecular immunology at the Blood Center of Southeastern Wisconsin in Milwaukee. He graduated from the University of Chicago with an MBA and a concentration in economics and statistics. He was the associate director of the Blood Bank and the University of Maryland Medical Systems in Baltimore from 1994 to 2000, the director of the HLA laboratory at MD Anderson Cancer Center from 2000 to 2016, and the director of the HLA laboratory at Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa, FL, since 2016.
