Massimo Mangiola

Dr. Mangiola hold a PhD in Clinical and Experimental Immunology from the University of Genoa (Italy) and the Diplomate certification from the American Board in Histocompatibility & Immunogenetics. Dr. Mangiola has more than 15 years of experience in Transplant Immunology. In the US, Dr. Mangiola has trained at Tufts Medical Center (Boston) and has directed or co-directed HLA laboratories in Boston, Providence and Pittsburgh. Dr. Mangiola has served in several committees, is active in research and has published in peer-reviewed journals. Currently, Dr. Mangiola is a Clinical Associate Professor and the Immunogenetics Laboratory Director at the NYU Langone Medical Center (NYC). Dr. Mangiola is actively investigating the role of molecular HLA mismatch in solid organ and stem cell transplantation and the impact that the molecular mismatch load has on antibody formation, cellular rejection and long term graft survival.
