Dr Faviel González is a lecturer and full-time researcher at the Faculty of Medicine, Unit Torreon of the Universidad Autonoma de Coahuila since 2014. His research focuses on the development of bioinformatics applications for the analysis of polymorphisms in the human genome. Dr González has also an extensive experience in the field of immunoinformatics where his most important work was the development of a database for the storage of allele frequencies from genes related to the immune system (www.allelefrequencies.net), including HLA, KIR, MIC and other several cytokine polymorphisms. This database contains more than 1,000 worldwide populations and it is well known by the immunogenetics and histocompatibility community.
