Aleksandar Senev, MD, Ph.D., studied medicine at the Faculty of Medicine in Skopje, North Macedonia, and received his Ph.D. in biomedical science at KU Leuven University, Belgium, with focus on innovative approaches for HLA-matching and immune risk stratification in kidney transplantation. He is currently working as a postdoctoral researcher at the Nephrology and Renal Transplantation Research Group in KU Leuven University, Belgium. Dr. Senev has more than 10 years of experience in HLA. Most of his work and peer-review publications are focused on the role of HLA and non-HLA antibodies in transplantation, antibody-mediated rejection of allografts, and improving HLA matching and allograft outcome.
